  • 3 tsp. salt
  • pepper
  • 10 whole cloves
  • carrots
  • Potatoes
  • 6 tbsps. flour
  • 2 bay leaves

InstructionsInstructions  Liempo or ribs may also be used for this dish but it is too fatty. Cut pork into 2 or 3 inch cubes and brown in a little fat in a heavy frying pan or kettle.Drain off fat that accumulates. Add the water and seasonings. If desired, add also a little vinegar,about 2 tablespoons, to hasten tenderizing process. Cover and simmer over charcoal for one hour or until tender. Add just enough vegetables for one meal. Add the onions whole, the carrots and the potatoes cut into cubes as large as the meat. Mix hour with a little fat until smooth,then add to the stew. Continue cooking until thick.Suggestions: Then next day, add peas,fresh or canned to the stew. To any left, add liver and sweet pepper,for afritada. Add a little water before reheating stew as the sauce becomes thicker and thicker.
